UK Government frees data: data.gov.uk

30.03.2010

At the end of January, the UK Government launched a new website – data.gov.uk –  as a central point of access to public sector information (PSI). The new site is based on the U.S. model http://www.data.gov/. PSI includes data relating to finance, health, education, transport, and the environment that were already available within the respective authorities. There is no comparable service in Germany as yet. For example, the data provided by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) have already been edited; raw data are not made available.
