German Library Association supports Open Access
The German Library Association (dbv) supports the Open Access movement and recommends scholarly libraries to "unreservedly espouse the Open Access movement, to campaign vigourously for Open Access at their universities, and to develop appropriate strategies for its implementation". In its statement the dbv draws attention to the German Research Foundation's new funding programme, which offers university libraries the chance to participate actively in the Open Access movement, and calls on libraries to avail of these funding opportunities.
