De Gruyter introduces new open-access model

With immediate effect, the de Gruyter publishing house is offering an open-access model for its journals, collected volumes and book series. Entitled de Gruyter Open Library, the new feature offers authors the option to publish their works in a hybrid model. For a fee of 1,750 euro per article, they can make their contributions openly accessible to readers on the publisher's Reference Global platform. The new model will apply to journal articles and to chapters in collected volumes and book series, irrespective of the subject area or the length of the contribution in question. In the event that open-access fees lead to a 20% increase in calculated proceeds, de Gruyter plans to adjust its product prices accordingly.
