ENCES - European Network for Copyright in support of Education and Science

A workshop entitled "Copyright Regulation in Europe – An Enabling or Disabling Factor for Science Communication?" took place at the Heinrich Böll Foundation Berlin from 13 – 15 November 2008. The aim of the workshop was to establish a community of interest for the improvement of the exchange of information in education and science in the EU. The workshop brought together thirty leading European scientists from twelve EU member states. The participants, all of whom are recognised experts in the area of copyright and science communication, met to discuss copyright regulation problems in their respective countries. They consensually agreed to continue initiatives aimed at establishing a European Network for Copyright in support of Education and Science (ENCES).
