Medic receives award for founding OA journal

At the first Science Gala held by the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (DHV) on 30 March 2009, physician Dr. Christoph Kleinschnitz received the junior scientist of the year award in recognition of the fact that he founded the Journal of Experimental Stroke & Translational Medicine (JESTM), the world's first OA journal in the field of stroke research. The journal provides cost-free publication of and access to scientific literature, which is of particular benefit to researchers in developing countries.
