Open Access at the Max Planck Society

Berlin Declaration | Practical Implementation | Cooperation

Welcome to the pages of the Max Planck Society within the German Open Access Information Platform.

On the following pages, you will find information about how the Open Access paradigm will be implemented at a publicly funded research institution that occupies a leading position at both national and international level.

A central aim and commitment of the Max Planck Society is to make the findings and research results obtained by its scientists available as widely as possible for the benefit of humanity.

The conclusion of the Berlin Declaration in 2003 that was initiated jointly by the Max Planck Society and other establishments has strengthened the Open Access movement in Germany and Europe in a sustainable manner.

By participating in this platform, the Max Planck Society wishes to emphasize the importance of the Open Access concept within its mission statement.
