Living Reviews

With Living Reviews, the Max Planck Society offers both its own series of electronic Open Access journals and a corresponding publication platform. Living Reviews provides applications that extend beyond pure publication and enter the realm of eScience. For more detailed information, see.

The journals in the Living Reviews series are scientific, peer-reviewed specialist journals that publish review articles that are updated electronically on a regular basis. The Living Reviews are not available in printed format. Thus far, the series comprises four journals in the fields of relativity theory, solar physics, European political science and landscape research.

The journals are available to the scientific community and to the interested public as Open Access resource.

The great success of the journals is confirmed by the up to 5000 full-text downloads per month for the journals Living Reviews in Relativity and Living Reviews in Solar Physics published by the Max Planck Society, by the up to 200 quotations of individual articles and, last but not least, by the positive feedback received from numerous scientists.

Scientific institutions interested in publishing this kind of journal are invited to contact the project by emailing contact@livingreviews.org.

The Living Reviews publication platform supports these journals by providing technical and editorial services.

The open source publication tools developed as part of the project can be used and further developed.
