One main goal of scientists and scholars is to get their results published. Only then does their work become visible, only then do their results get the recognition they deserve. It isn't very long ago that the only way of disseminating scientific and scholarly information was to publish it in a print medium – be it in the form of a journal article, a book or a contribution in a collective volume. The Internet has opened up a wide range of new possibilities for disseminating knowledge. However, authors are finding themselves having to deal with many new issues and this gives rise to a lot of uncertainty. Some of these issues are addressed in this section.
