German Federal Ministry of Education and Research establishes post-grant fund

In a press release issued on 01.09.2017, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) announced the establishment of a post-grant fund for Open Access publications. The fund will support researchers in making their publications freely accessible to the public, and it will back up, as a support measure, the Open Access clause in the BMBF’s project funding agreements.
Funding will be provided for publications that arise from BMBF-funded projects. It must be applied for within three years after completion of the project. Funding of up to 2000 euros per publication will be granted. If the publication costs exceed 2000 euros, an additional 20% of the amount in excess of 2000 euros will be provided. The complete funding conditions can be found here.
