DINI OAI validator released

The Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) is now the most widely used harvesting protocol for sharing metadata between (Open Access) repositories. Freely accessible validators make the establishment of an OAI interface much easier as they facilitate specific requests and error identification.

One such OAI validator has been developed within the framework of OA-Network 2 , a project funded by German Research Foundation (DFG). The OA-Network validator [a first test version of which has just been released,] checks OAI interfaces' compliance with current DINI Certificate guidelines. All a repository has to do to start the validation is enter its Base URL and contact address. The DINI validator builds on and elaborates the groundwork laid by the OpenAIRE project. Because it is a work in progress, testers and comments are welcome.
