DeepGreen project gets underway

The DFG-funded project DeepGreen, which is aimed at supporting the implementation of open access rights in Alliance and national licences, got underway on 1 January 2016.

The aim of the DeepGreen project is to provide technical support, in particular, for the hitherto slow implementation of the Open Access component of the Alliance licences so that authors or libraries will no longer have to manually self-archive these publications in repositories but rather the publishers themselves will deliver them directly via defined interfaces.

The project partners are the Library of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, the Library of the Technische Universität (TU) Berlin, the Helmholtz Open Science Coordination Office at the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the Bavarian State Library, the Bavarian Library Network (BVB), and the Cooperative Library Network of Berlin-Brandenburg (KOBV).
