Open Access Barcamp 2020

The open-access.network invites you to the first Open Access Barcamp on 2 and 3 April 2020 at the University of Konstanz

With the Barcamp, we want to offer interested members of the Open Access community the opportunity to exchange ideas, network and learn from each other. In contrast to classical conferences, the Barcamp format is more open and dispenses with a predetermined programme. Instead, participants can come together in a self-organised way to discuss topics that are exciting for them. All topics related to Open Access are welcome. For example, the implementation of the DEAL agreements, the perpetuation of publication funds, Open Access monographs or Open Access in certain disciplines could be discussed. Participants decide for themselves which sessions they wish to offer and which ones they wish to attend.

If you wish to offer a session, you are free to choose the format. For example, you can offer a workshop or give a lecture followed by a discussion. You can also openly discuss a problem that may also exist at other institutions and discuss solutions together.

During session planning at the beginning of the event, you can suggest topics for session design and express your interest in participating in sessions. Furthermore you have the option to use our etherpad to inform yourself about suggested topics in advance and to suggest topics yourself which you would like to attend or offer.

The Open Access Barcamp 2020 will take place on Thursday, 2nd and Friday, 3rd April 2020 at the University of Konstanz. We will start at 12 am with registration and a lunch snack, the programme will start at 1 pm. On Thursday morning there will be an opportunity to take part in a guided tour of Konstanz with the title "Architektur und Baukunst".  On Thursday morning and Friday around noon a guided tour through the library and the University of Konstanz will be offered. A joint evening program is planned. On Friday, the program will continue until 1 pm, followed by a lunch snack.
