OpenIng starts survey on OA and OER in the field of engineering

OpenIng, a project funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), is examining how engineers use Open Access (OA) and Open Educational Resources (OER) and, in the case of those engineers who do not yet use OA and OER, why this is so. Preceded by a survey of experts, the survey that has just started is a further project milestone.

In the framework of the OpenIng project, the project partners, Technische Universität (TU) Darmstadt, Technische Universität (TU) Braunschweig, and the University of Stuttgart, are examining legal, organisational, reputation-related, and financial barriers to OA and OER, with a special focus on possible synergies between the two.
