Share Your Research Data: Contributions for E-Science-Tage 2021 wanted

This year Interdisciplinary conference series deals with the exchange of research data

The virtual E-Science-Tage 2021 will take place from March 4 to 6, 2021 under the motto Share Your Research Data and will focus on the opportunities and challenges of sharing research data:

What are the benefits and risks of sharing existing research data?
How does the exchange of data contribute to the improvement of research quality and scientific progress?
How can digital infrastructures facilitate the exchange of research data?

In search of contributions dedicated to this and other questions on the topic, the program committee of the E-Science Days is launching a call:

They are looking for authors who submit scientifically substantiated contributions, best practice examples or case studies. The papers should fit the motto of this year's E-Science-Tage Share Your Research Data, but their focus should not be limited to this. Exemplary topics proposed by the program committee are:

  • benefits versus risks of sharing research data
  • data archiving, reproducibility and reuse
  • free subsequent use of research data - Open Data
  • linking of text and data publications
  • research data and open source research software
  • education and training in research data management: training concepts for the sharing and subsequent use of research data
  • legal aspects of sharing research data
  • transparency in research data management
  • quality assurance in the curation of research data
  • specific and generic tools for sharing research data
  • (over-)institutional solutions

Lectures, posters, lightning talks and workshops are permitted as possible formats.

In order to apply for a contribution, an abstract must be submitted to the committee; deadline for submission is November 30, 2020. The individual steps of submission can be found here. All submitted papers will be reviewed by the program committee for novelty, quality and thematic relevance. After the E-Science Days, the results and presentations will be made available through open access publications.

The E-Science-Tage 2021 are organized within the bw2FDM project and are the central interdisciplinary event on E-Science topics. E-Science experts from research and infrastructure facilities will enter into dialogue. Registration for participation in the E-Science-Tage 2021 will soon be possible via this link.
