Spanish National Research Council adopts open access mandate

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the largest public institution dedicated to research in Spain, has adopted an open access mandate that promotes the green road to open access. The mandate requests CSIC researchers to make the full text of published articles, books, book chapters, and conference communications available in open access in CSICÔÇÖs repository DIGITAL.CSIC; to deposit the corresponding metadata in DIGITAL.CSIC; to deposit the metadata of datasets associated with the publications in DIGITAL.CSIC; and to make these datasets available in open access in DIGITAL.CSIC insofar as this is possible. CSIC is attached to the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and is the third-largest research institution in Europe.
