Webinar on the topic of science tracking

Veröffentlicht am

Large scientific publishers are increasingly collecting large amounts of data on scientists' research interests, online behaviour and publication indicators and offering this data for sale. The Science Tracking Working Group of the German Research Foundation's (DFG) Committee on Academic Library Services and Information Systems (AWBI) has set itself the task of assessing and evaluating the significance of this practice, known as science tracking, for infrastructure facilities, science and society. The group will present the final results of its work in a webinar on the topic of "Science Tracking". The event will take place on 11 March 2024 at 3 pm. In addition to a brief technical introduction, the central aspects of the webinar will be the legal and library policy assessment of science tracking, as well as its classification with regard to the DEAL contracts that have been concluded. The German-language presentation will last around 90 minutes and will be followed by a discussion of questions from participants. No registration is required to participate.
